Caroline and Monique, dancers from Stichting Rolstoeldansen Amstelveen, were invited to show their act in the middle of high level gymnastic performances the last three days (16 - 18 December) in Eindhoven en Amsterdam. Thousends of people widnessed the very divers acts during the Univé Gymgala.
With an amazing show full of acrobatic and dance, in and next to the wheelchair, we enjoy the music, the beautyfull coulored light and use of the smoke machine. You don't know where to look and before you know it's finished.

DansDuel 3 Sundays on TV
In this dancing program the top of the Dutch Dance world fights against each other in three shows. Under the
sight of the adjudicators (with Cor van der Stroet amongst them) will two showdance couples in different catogories
compeet. Irene van der Laar, finalist of 'Dancing with the Stars', will be hosting the program.
Support 2006
From 19 till 22 April again the Support, exhibition about living with a handicap, will be organized in the 'Jaarbeurs' in Utrecht.
During Support a lot of activities are planned. You can sport on the Sports floor, get a metamorfose in the Beauty & Health Studio or ask for juridical advice.
You can find an overview of all, so far known, activities, on Supportexpo. Here you can require a entrance ticket for free as well.
Disco
For most of us it was long ago since whe where in the discotheek. Tonight was the night. The Red Cross was
organising a disco evening in discotheek The Challenge, for handicaped joungsters in the age between 18 en 40.
Of course we from "Walking Wheels" where also there with twelve dancers, not only to enjoy the
evening, but also to show our dancing to the public.
After some heavy work by done the guys from security the wheelchairs arrived on the stage. Espacially Laura's
wheelchair caused them some drops of sweat. A stage only accessable via six steps. (Laura felt the most safe
in the arms of Danny, who could blame here?!) And Laura kept to her wish: dancing in her electric wheelchair.
At nine o'clock is was time to give our first demonstration with guidance of Maureen. We showed three
different dances en danced two dances together with everybody who wanted to dance with us.
First a samba (on the music 'Heb je even voor mij' sang by René Froger) and than the slosh. Everybody danced
very enthousiastic and learned both dances in no time.
Later that evening we stood in the spotlites again. Then all danced the Cardo Line Dance with us (made by the
first group of - the than so called- coming assistant instructors wheelchair dancing, who had their education in
Werkenrode).
We had the opportunity to show everybody what the possibilities of wheelchair dancing are. The rest of the
evening the music carried on, the spotlights made overtime and the fogmachines brought a misty effect on a
regular base.
Just before closingtime Mike was put in the spotlight by DJ Ricardo, because of his birthday the next day.
We can look back on a successfull evening and I hope that this event will get back on a yearly base!

Dancing on the street
Wednesday afternoon 26 October we where invited to give a demonstration during the Sixcamp gaming, organised
by Sportservice Noord-Holland because of 150 years Haarlemmermeer and the Autumn holidays.
Although it is almost November the weather is almost like summer, so it's a pleasure to dance outside.
On the parkinglot of the Fanny Blankers-Koen hall are many playing instruments installed. A big group of children
and grown-ups came togehter at this place.
We started with a happy Phrase Graze Mixer combi, continued with a Samba and Barndans duo.
Than it is time for the public to dance with us. Again we dance the Barndans (with a little change), continue with
the slosh and finish the happening with the 10 Pretty Girls. Sportservice NH arranged some extra wheelchairs,
so people can get in and try to dance that way.
After the demonstration, we altogether go to De Wissel for a nice cup of tea or coffee. And we evaluate
the past demonstration.
3.774 visitors in one year
Today, 19 October 2005, it is exactly one year ago, we started to count the number of visitors to our
website.
In 365 days 3.774 persons visited our site en viewed all together 16.699 pages.
They came to our site via a search engine (mostly Google), by typing in the exact web address or surfing from
an other website (like www.rolstoeldansen.nl).
The most bussy day was 22 May 2005, then 35 people visited our site.
With your help we will take care that the site is interesting to visit, no mather it's the first time or if they are a
regular visitor.
Season has started
Mondag 5 September we had our first lesson of the new dancing season!
Although not everybody returned from his holiday yet, we worked very hard repeating a part of the
well known dances ánd (in the first group) learning a new one: the Farmers Jic. And although it's
a fast dance with a new item (one couple dances between two rows of the other dancers to the
other side of de dancing floor) it went very well!

Dancing on TV
For nine weeks (starting 20 August) every Saterday evening, you can see eight Dutch celebrities
dancing with a professional dancer. You have great influence who wins this dancing competition.
Just vote for your favorite couple.
Each week one couple drops out during a live show. This is for 50 percent decided by a professional
judging-committee. The other 50 percent comes from spectators votes. So vote for your favorite
and you might win weekly dancing lessons or a 16-day trip to Cuba.

Nice result for handicap.nl
Thanks to 51 voluntars and the wonderfull organisation of Meriam and Arnold van der Klauw, we have collected
over € 4910,70 in Lisse, Lisserbroek, Nieuw-Vennep and Hoofddorp this year. Which is more than last year or
the year before.
25% Of the total amount will handicap.nl, as usually, sent back to the bankaccount of the moneycollecting
organisation. We use this money for example for payment of all the costs concerning the medall test and a part
of the costs of the new years party.
This way all dancers get profits from the great work of all the people who went along the houses to raise money
for handicap.nl in the week of 13 - 18 June.
We would like to thank al those people ánd Meriam and Arnold for their hard work in (and around) this
fundraising week. And of course a big thank you for all people who gave money!
Workshops wheelchair dancing in Cruquiushoeve
Invited by SEIN (Stichting Epilepsie
Instellingen Nederland) we arranged workshops wheelchair dancing for inhabitants and people from
daycare of the Cruquiushoeve on two afternoons.
Thuesday and Friday afternoon, 21 and 24 June, we dance, despite tropical tempratures severall dances.
For sure it's time for the Slosh, Barndans and Fado Blanquita, where especially the 'olé' sounds great. After a
break we continue with a square dance and 'Kabouter Plop'. Friday we dance, beside these dances also
Macarena and Viennice Wals (as a group dance).
With the help of some voluntars from the Cruquiushoeve and Meriam, Arnold, Cynthia, Ronald, Tineke and Lenie
of our group all people participate enthousiast.
Some dancers of the Thuesday workshop are present on Friday again. And it is clear they learned a lot.
Both afternoons we all worked very hard, the learned a lot and we have enjoyed (sometimes) small but
beautifull steps forward. Warm, tired but satisfied we go home.
